Corte Celestiale was founded around 1550 as a “gumbo” (olive press), still standing today, for pressing the olives grown on the terraces at the foot of Monte Pesalto. It was part of a large estate owned by a noble family from Albenga.

Over the centuries the building was expanded several times with the addition of stables, storerooms and numerous cisterns, still visible today, for collecting both olive oil and rainwater.

Around the middle of the 17th century the upper floor was built, with the manor rooms intended for the aristocratic owners who came here during the harvest and pressing season to oversee the work.

In the 18th century the roof structure was modified, changing from a domed, Arab-style design to a pitched roof: this gave Corte Celestiale its current appearance.

Over time, with varying fortunes, the estate passed through the hands of several families until, in 2016, it was purchased by Andrea and Marzia Berra, who began its restoration.

In 2026, at the end of a long and painstaking restoration project, it became a charming agriturismo.
